Personal Summary

Air Marshal (R) Aamir Masood has served the elite institution of Pakistan Air Force for over forty years. During his illustrious career AM Aamir served and excelled at every tier and appointment, rose to the senior most rank and retired as the coveted Deputy Chief of the Air Staf Air Defence (DCAS AD). As DCAS AD, he was responsible for organizing, training and equipping of more than 1500 active duty officers, airmen and civilian personnel serving in Air Defence branch of Pakistan Air Force. As Principal Staff Officer, he was also advisor to Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force. Air Marshal Aamir Masood was commissioned in 1988 as a Fighter Pilot in Pakistan Air Force. An accomplished Fighter Pilot having flown various fighter aircraft on PAF inventory is also a graduate of the coveted Combat Commanders’ School. During his career spanning over 35 years, he has held various prestigious Command & Staff appointments namely Instructor Pilot, Squadron Commander F-16 Fighting Falcon Squadron, Officer Commanding F 16 Flying Wing, Base Commander of an operational base and Air Officer Commanding, Central Air Command. His senior staff appointments include Deputy Chief of the Air Staff (Support) and Deputy Chief of the Air Staff (Training) at Air Headquarters, Islamabad. He was among the founders of Aerospace Center of excellence (ACE) which is the home for combat commanders, also has school for standardisation of operational publication and aggressor squadron and moreover it houses Air warfare school for housing national and international composite operations and exercises along with their analysis. Air Marshal specialty is counter terrorist and counter insurgency operations for which he has been given gallantry award.
In recognition of his distinguished services, Air Marshal Aamir Masood was awarded Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military), Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military) [Star of Excellence (Military)], Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Military) [Medal of Excellence (Military)] and Sitara-e-Basalat besides holding Chief of the Air Staff Commendation ertificates and a Professional Excellence Badge. He has a total of 3500 flying hours on his credit.
In addition to his offcial appointments and awards, he spearheaded Pakistan Air Force Think Tank : Centre for Aerospace and Security Studies (CASS) as Deputy President and also supervised Pakistan Air Force’s Artificial Intelligence Center (CENTAIC) as chairman. He also held the elite titles of Chairman Royal Aeronautical Society (Islamabad Branch) and Senior Vice President, Squash Federation of Pakistan. An avid Polo Player himself, the Air Marshal also remained President of PAF Polo Association till his retirement.
